Japanese company aims to release 12 multiplayer titles by fiscal 2025

TOKYO -- The Sony Group division behind the PlayStation has acquired U.S. game developer Firewalk Studios, the Japanese company announced Friday, as it seeks to bolster its live service multiplayer game business.

The acquisition makes Firewalk Studios the 20th in-house studio for Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Terms of the deal, including cost, were not disclosed.
