WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump has approved Nippon Steel's deal for U.S. Steel, White House sources said Friday.
Trump's decision clears the way for the deal to go forward nearly a year and a half since it was announced. The president appears to have decided the transaction poses no threat to national security after a second review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
