TOKYO -- Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast is cutting the price of most of its EV models from this month, as the company aims to double sales this year after strong growth in 2024.

On Sunday, the company announced it was deducting 2% to 14% from the prices of 11 of its models, starting this month. It is also phasing out its EV battery rental service. The price cut is part of an effort to reduce the initial cost increase for customers caused by a mandatory purchase of batteries.
