Ad agencies on buying spree in Asia as digital shift picks up

With nine deals in five years, Japan's Dentsu grabs crown in India

TOKYO -- Global advertising agencies are stepping up their acquisition race in Asia, seeking to capitalize on the rapid growth in the digital ad market.

Japan's Dentsu has acquired nine companies in India over the past five years, becoming the top digital advertising player there. WPP, the world's largest ad agency, and French concern Publicis have also been making Indian digital deals.
