China makes gains against US in high-tech markets

Survey shows Chinese companies boosted shares in 9 sectors last year

TOKYO -- China is narrowing the gap between it and the U.S. in the race for dominance in high-technology markets, according to a recent Nikkei analysis.

Chinese companies expanded their market share in nine sectors including mobile infrastructure in 2018, while the U.S. grew in eight, the analysis of data collected by various research companies showed.
