TOKYO -- Orders received by Japanese machine tool producers increased 8% on the year in July to 123.9 billion yen ($850 million), an industry group said Thursday, driven by demand in China and the U.S.

The figure grew year-on-year for the third month in a row, according to data published by the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association (JMTBA).
