The country's megabanks are on the lookout for more fee payers

TOKYO -- Japan's three megabanks are pushing into financial technology as they hunt for more fee-paying customers.

Tomoaki Nakayama, general manager of the IT Innovation Department at Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, said the group aims to become a payments and biometrics platform provider.
