TOKYO -- Businesses in Singapore and Japan are bucking the back-to-the-office trend, as attitudes toward hybrid working diverge across Asia, according to a survey.

Hays, a global specialist recruitment company, said, "Traditional workplace norms had been reshaped" in Singapore and Japan, where fewer than two-fifths of professionals spend their entire work week in the office. Government policies aimed at improving work-life balance have helped cement the shift to more flexible working patterns.
