TOKYO -- Vietnam's Dong Nai province, known as the most affected by contamination from defoliants used during the Vietnam War, is transforming itself into an economic hub as part of the greater Ho Chi Minh City area, with a new airport and industrial parks in the pipeline.

The province plans to develop 11 new industrial parks by 2030, increasing the total to 50. The new Long Thanh International Airport is currently under construction, scheduled to open by the first half of 2026.
