Sony unveils self-driving car to be tested in fiscal 2020

Prototype intended to glean know-how for developing image sensor market

LAS VEGAS -- Sony on Monday unveiled a prototype car equipped with the company's own self-driving system which it aims to trial on public roads starting in fiscal 2020 through March 2021.

The system combines Sony technologies, including artificial intelligence and cloud, to detect and recognize people and objects in and outside the car.
