LAS VEGAS -- CES, the world's biggest consumer electronics and technology expo, returns to Las Vegas this week after an online-only show in 2021. However, the highly anticipated in-person event has been upended by recent surging COVID-19 cases that led many tech heavyweights to cancel their participation at the last minute.

CES 2022 officially kicks off Wednesday with over 2,200 exhibitors expected to take part, a sharp decline from over 4,400 companies in 2020.
