LAS VEGAS -- Samsung and LG Electronics both made artificial intelligence in the home a major focus of their presentations at the CES consumer tech show in Las Vegas, with each company unveiling a range of smart appliances and even a pair of AI-powered robot companions.

"We've recognized AI technology is one of the most essential enablers" to enhance the customer experience, said CEO William Cho on Monday. "While others may concentrate on the evolution of AI technology, LG's focus lies in how AI can actually make a difference in the real world," he added.
