Not a few startups are focused on harnessing the Internet of Things and the power of cloud computing. Supracontrol is one of them. The company is developing industrial plug-and-play sensors with integrated Web applications, coupled with cloud services.
Its Supra IoT sensors, for example, monitor the temperature of a factory in real time. When something goes wrong -- say, the temperature drops so low that pipes could burst, or machines and products could freeze -- the system sends out smartphone or email alerts. The company's sensors can also keep an eye on humidity, power, air flow, vibrations, smoke and other variables.
