Baidu's Ernie Bot garners love from investors, skepticism from experts

HONG KONG -- Interest is rising in Baidu's Ernie Bot, the Chinese tech company's answer to AI-powered chat app ChatGPT, even if no one knows yet exactly what it will do.

Shares in the search engine giant closed up 7.57% at 145 Hong Kong dollars on Wednesday after the company said it would make an announcement regarding the app on March 16.
