BEIJING -- China's Meituan is trying to grab a bigger piece of the food delivery market with its low-priced group ordering feature, which helped achieve double-digit sales growth in the April-June quarter despite an economic downturn that has made consumers more frugal.

Meituan rose to prominence by offering food deliveries in 30 minutes or less. Its yellow-uniform-clad delivery drivers have become ubiquitous in Chinese cities, zipping around streets on scooters.
