BEIJING -- China has approved the merger of two major state-owned technology companies in a move that appears to seek the scale needed to fight growing U.S. trade restrictions.
China Electronics Technology Group Corp. (CETC) will absorb digital services provider China Hualu Group, the country's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said on Thursday. This deal will make Hualu a subsidiary of CETC.
