Huawei pushes smartwatches in Japan as U.S. sanctions bite

TOKYO -- Huawei Technologies has worked to boost sales in Japan's smartwatch market as the Chinese company's smartphone operations are hamstrung by American restrictions on exports of cutting-edge semiconductors.

Huawei's Japanese unit recently released a round smartwatch for business users.
