Lenovo's new goal: Be No. 1 in servers and storage

Dominant PC maker also strives to be world's top data center vendor

SINGAPORE -- The world's biggest personal computer maker has its sights set on also being No. 1 in servers, storage equipment and other pieces of data center hardware, the global head of the Lenovo Group's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) told Nikkei Asia.

"Our midterm goal is to become the largest infrastructure provider in the world," Kirk Skaugen, executive vice president of Lenovo, said in a recent interview.
