NEW YORK -- As Tiktok faces a sell-or-ban deadline from the U.S. government, users in America are flocking to another Chinese social media app: Xiaohongshu.

Downloads of the photo and video sharing app, whose name translates to "Little Red Book," have surged, propelling it to number one in the free category on Apple's App Store on Monday, despite it not having an official English name.
