Cigarette giant faces tough competition in emerging markets

 TOKYO -- Japan Tobacco is seeking to expand its presence in emerging markets to further increase overseas sales, as domestic demand softens. 

     However, a bumpy road is ahead for JT, with advanced economies tightening tobacco regulations, and U.S. and European companies gaining entry into emerging markets.
