Amazon Japan pushes suppliers to help cover its costs

Amazon Japan's shipping costs are growing as short-staffed Japanese couriers struggle to keep up with the company's rapid growth.

TOKYO -- Amazon Japan is asking many suppliers for "cooperation payments" in an apparent bid to shift some of the burden of rising shipping and other costs to business partners.
