Baidu having trouble getting in the groove outside China

Li hopes to expand Baidu's overseas presence.

BEIJING -- Chinese Internet search giant Baidu has been generating more profits from smartphones as it scrambles to rely less on personal computers, but the company continues to struggle overseas.

     Baidu's net profit for the July-September quarter rose 27.2% on the year to 3.87 billion yuan ($632 million), with revenue surging 52% to 13.52 billion yuan.
