BANGKOK/MUMBAI -- Baker McKenzie, one of the world's largest law firms, is preparing to open its first Indian office in Mumbai, seeking to tap growing demand for legal services related to mergers and acquisitions.

Peerapan Tungsuwan, a member of Baker McKenzie's Global Executive Committee overseeing the firm's Global India Practice, told Nikkei about the plan.
