Fuji Oil Holdings is expanding its production facility in China to meet growing demand for slightly sweetened milk drinks.

OSAKA -- As China's food consumption habits expand rapidly into a range of packaged and processed foods, demand for additives is taking off, prompting companies like Japan's Fuji Oil Holdings to dramatically expand production in the country.

Fuji Oil has announced it will raise production capacity of a key additive for "lightly sweetened" milk beverages in the country ninefold, as demand for such drinks has boomed alongside growing health consciousness.
