Crown Resorts Sydney casino finally set to start taking bets

Regulatory woes delayed gambling at glitzy, high-profile venue

SYDNEY -- Crown Resorts is finally set to open the floor of its Sydney casino on Monday, around two years after regulators held off licensing for the showcase $1.7 billion skyscraper hotel and gaming venue right on the city's famous harbor.

It follows the green light in June from the gambling watchdog in Australia's biggest state of New South Wales, granting Crown a conditional license to operate the casino until the end of next year.
