TOKYO -- With a population of 1.2 billion, Africa is a market few can ignore. Where commodity developers seeking to get their hands on the continent's rich natural resources used to be a majority, now a growing number of consumer goods makers and IT companies have set their sites on the spending power of the growing middle class.
