Hitachi to train 50,000 employees in AI in push for new businesses

Japanese company eyes applying the technology to IT, energy and railroads

TOKYO -- Hitachi plans to train 50,000 employees by 2027 who will be capable of developing new services using generative artificial intelligence.

The program will cover about 20% of Hitachi's 270,000-employee workforce. Staff in domestic and overseas sectors, such as information technology and railroads, will undergo the training.
