Indonesia Battery Corp. in talks with European automakers on EVs

IBC also plans to acquire Australian lithium mines, says top official

LONDON -- Indonesia Battery Corp. is in discussion with European carmakers for investment into the Southeast Asian country, the chief of the state-owned company told Nikkei Asia, saying an announcement can be expected in a few weeks.

IBC President Director Toto Nugroho also said plans to source lithium, a mineral essential to electric vehicle batteries, could involve acquiring mines in Australia.
