Club eyes Jakarta listing as region looks to up its game

JAKARTA -- Indonesian soccer club Bali United has confirmed plans for an initial public offering, a move not uncommon in European leagues but a potential first for Southeast Asia.

Securing additional sources of funds is becoming increasingly important for soccer clubs, not least in Southeast Asia. The region has always been keen on the game but the primary interest was toward European soccer.
