TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) said on Tuesday that it expects a jump in sales and profits in the next three years and aims to expand its global leadership in the gas turbine market as electricity demand is likely to soar amid a boom in generative AI.

The world's largest turbine maker sees sales growing 20% during the period to an all-time high of 5.7 trillion yen ($36.3 billion), while operating profit is expected to climb 60% to 450 billion yen, MHI said in announcing its mid-term strategy.
