TOKYO -- Japan's Nidec has brought back founder and Chairman Shigenobu Nagamori to serve as CEO, demoting his successor Jun Seki after less than a year in the top position at the motor maker.

Seki will instead serve as chief operating officer, the company said on Thursday.
