Japan's Nidec taps Sony alum overseeing automotive motors as new CEO

KYOTO, Japan -- Japanese motor maker Nidec has tapped Executive Vice President Mitsuya Kishida as the new president and CEO effective April 1, choosing a leader who has built extensive sales and production experience at Sony.

At Nidec's automotive motor and electric control business unit, Kishida handled European operations, among other duties. Recently, he has focused on rebuilding the electric vehicle parts business.
