HANOI -- Vietnamese digital payments service provider VNPay has received approval to operate as a wireless carrier without its own infrastructure in the country, heralding a potential price war in a mobile market dominated by three giants.
VNPay, formally known as Vietnam Payment Solution, obtained a license as a mobile virtual network operator, becoming the fourth company in the country to do so.
