BANGKOK/YANGON -- Myanmar Agro Exchange (MAEX), a Yangon-based produce market operator, reported another record profit for the year ending in March, driven by strong demand for vegetables and fruits in the country's largest city. Despite ongoing political unrest, both capital and supplies continue to flow into Yangon, drawn by its relative stability and safety.

The company leases vendor spaces at Danyingone Wholesale Market, a large produce market located about an hour's drive north of central Yangon. Spanning 35 hectares, the market is large enough to accommodate seven full-sized baseball fields.
