Netflix expects to rake in $15bn in subscriber fees this year, CEO says

Video service will not follow Amazon into sports streaming

LOS ANGELES -- Netflix will earn about $15 billion in subscription revenue this year by sticking to its strategy of delivering original content, CEO Reed Hastings said Tuesday.

The U.S.-based company's guiding principle is turning subscribers' "hard-earned money" into quality programming, Hastings told reporters here. "Every show, we ask ourselves did we spend the customer's money well," he added.
