MANILA -- Cirtek Holdings Philippines will start producing electric motorcycles and lithium-ion batteries as early as this year, looking to cash in on a budding electrification push.

Cirtek received approval from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for production in Laguna province, south of Manila, the company said in a statement Thursday.
