BEIJING -- French automaker Renault is pushing for a sevenfold increase in annual Chinese sales by 2022, to 550,000 units, the company's regional chairman said at the Auto China 2018 show on Thursday.

"We will achieve our goal by increasing [the] selection of local models and sales power," Francois Provost, chairman for the Asia-Pacific, told the Nikkei Asian Review. Renault intends to double its dealer network in China to 400 over the same period, aiming to boost its presence in provincial cities.
