TOKYO -- Japanese chipmaker Renesas Electronics said on Tuesday it will collaborate with Chinese tech company Alibaba Group Holding to help manufacturers build machines that can network with each other through the "internet of things."
Under the partnership, Renesas will supply microcontrollers that are compatible with the internet of things operating system developed by Alibaba Cloud, the Chinese group's cloud computing division.
