OSAKA -- Investors in Zojirushi again voted down director appointments proposed by a major Chinese shareholder in a general meeting Thursday, handing the Japanese appliance maker another win in its running battle with the fund.

Ace Frontier had proposed adding former Yamagata Prefecture Gov. Hiroshi Saito and Kwansei Gakuin University professor Toshihiko Ishihara to the board. The picks were opposed by Zojirushi's management.
