Online retailer has bold plans for partnership with Japan's Yamato

TOKYO -- JD.com, China's second-largest e-commerce company, plans to launch this year a delivery service that will put fish, dairy goods, fruit, vegetables and other fresh food from Japan on Chinese dining tables within 24 hours of the order, its CEO said Monday.

The service will be provided in partnership with Japan's leading delivery company, Yamato Holdings, Liu Qiangdong, also known as Richard Liu, said in an interview after the tie-up was announced.
