Carlos Ghosn

TOKYO -- Nissan Motor will consider expanding business collaboration with Renault, with the aim of boosting annual cost savings to at least 4.3 billion euros ($4.65 billion) this year, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of the two automakers, told The Nikkei on Monday.

Commenting on a December agreement between the French government and the Nissan-Renault alliance in which Paris promised not to interfere with Nissan's operations, Ghosn said the matter has been settled in a manner satisfactory to all three parties.
