Komatsu to reap $700m windfall from fresh price hikes

Equipment maker to continue raising sticker prices to hedge against uncertainties

TOKYO -- Heavy equipment maker Komatsu will continue to raise product prices during the coming fiscal year in a move expected to lift group operating profit by 100 billion yen ($734 million) for the 12-month period.

"In the next fiscal year, we aim to raise prices by a similar margin as the current fiscal year," Chief Financial Officer Takeshi Horikoshi told Nikkei.
