BANGKOK -- EssilorLuxottica, the maker of Ray-Ban sunglasses, has completed a factory in eastern Thailand that will serve as a production hub for the Asia-Pacific region.

The plant in Rayong province becomes operational next month, with a daily capacity of 50,000 units. The 220,000-square-meter facility will be one of the biggest glasses factories in the world.
