Aeon Fantasy gets Chinese kids moving with exercise amusement park

Japan operator's Wuhan site offers training for fitness tests to fill cram school gap

Children exercise on a digital stage at Aeon Fantasy's new amusement center in Wuhan.

TOKYO -- As China cracks down on cram schools for young children, Japan's Aeon Fantasy seeks to help meet continued demand for activities outside school with an amusement center designed to keep students active.

The facility opening in Wuhan on Saturday has specialized trainers to lead children in exercise. As they dance or work out on an LED-lit digital stage, images on nearby screens move in sync with them.
