TOKYO -- The Japan Foundation has temporarily stopped administering a Japanese language proficiency test in Japan for people hoping to work in the country, citing cases of fraud.
Some examinees in Japan are suspected of having proxies take the JFT-Basic test for them, according to a source familiar with the situation. The foundation declined to provide details when asked for comment, citing an ongoing police investigation. It also halted taking new reservations to take the test.
