TOKYO -- Japanese cram school operator Gakken Holdings said Wednesday that it has set a goal of serving around 400,000 students overseas by the end of the decade, which would surpass its domestic enrollment.

"We could potentially reproduce Gakken's growth trajectory traced in postwar Japan," said Kenji Momota, director in charge of overseas operations, in presenting the group's global business strategy.
