TOKYO -- Ten Japanese universities will receive a total of more than 100 million yen ($700,000) in annual grants to help foster talent in fields like semiconductors and artificial intelligence in collaboration with European universities, the education ministry announced Thursday.
Yamagata University, University of Tsukuba, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Kanazawa University, Toyohashi University of Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Okayama University, Hiroshima University and Keio University were selected.
