TOKYO -- An initiative based out of Hitotsubashi University in Japan will help democracy activists fleeing Myanmar, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia find sanctuary within the region starting next year.

Democracy Advocates at Risk (DAR) is backed by the Sunnylands Initiative, which brings together think tanks and pro-democracy foundations across the Indo-Pacific. It is geared toward politicians, journalists, researchers and others facing threats in their home countries.
