TOKYO -- Rie Sano, a career consultant at the University of Tokyo, said none of the roughly 50 Japanese companies she approached to take part in English-language career sessions agreed to join the seminars for international students in March and September.
"Japanese companies are not serious about hiring foreign students," said Sano, representing Japan's top university. "They are only saying that they are open to considering it, but not actively."
