Daikin breaks ground on Polish plant for energy-saving heat pumps

Fourth European production hub seen creating 3,000 jobs by 2030

OSAKA -- Daikin Industries began construction this week on a heat pump factory in Poland as European demand grows for an electric alternative to fossil-fuel-burning boilers.

The Japanese company will invest more than 40 billion yen ($300 million) in the plant, which will be its fourth production hub for heat pumps in Europe.
